General Ghost Sites
PRAIRIE GHOSTS' "AMERICA'S MOST HAUNTED" ~ Troy Taylor of Prairie Ghosts takes you on a "tour" of America's most haunted places. Each discription provides you with a link where you can get a more in depth look at the location. The text is really easy to read, and you can even order Troy's handy-dandy book "The Haunting of America" via the site.
HISTORY AND HAUNTINGS.COM ~ Home of Ghosts of the Prairie, and The American Ghost Society. This site should also be in the Illinois links as well, but I am putting it here because of the content. This page appears to be primarily devoted to the promotion and sale of ghosty books, however there are also ghostly tours offered and there are links to popular articles written by Troy Taylor, who conveniently owns this site, and the one above (they are parts of the same major site). Has a fanTASTIC FAQ section, a Haunted  Museum section...This site is GREAT!
UNSOLVED MYSTERIES ~ Very faint text at the top of this index page tells you that this site is not affiliated with the TV show. What it is, is basically a flashy message board. A bit too much flash for me, but it has a long list of entries. Looks like it is dominated by the younger set, although found some messages by people in their mid 20's. Loads of other kinds of message boards to play with as well.
THE SHADOWLANDS GHOSTS AND HAUNTINGS ~ (All of these sites start to look the same after a while!! LOL ) This site boasts "Over 5600 true ghost stories". For those of you with a yen for that, you ARE in luck! Fix yourself some milk and cookies and curl up with this site! As with the H&H.com site, this site should also be in the New Jersey sites, but I put it here because of the sheer number of stories you can get from all over. Also, they have links to people in YOUR area if you want to talk to an investigator. THAT is a great deal! They have loads of Ghost Hunting hints, tips, and stories. They have photo, video, and EVP galleries. Looks like a really fun place! It MAY get a globe, I have to look further...ok, I've looked... I find their site to be a really fun run 'round. I think you'll enjoy it!

ABOUT.COM PARANORMAL PHENOMENA ~ This site has stories listed by the months in 2003, and then by the year in the years 1999 to 2002, which are then broken down. There are a LOT of stories. There are no pictures WITH the stories, but the side menu has a photos section which claims to be the biggest collection on the web. Whether the pictures are good or authentic is your call <grin>. The site is really easy to read and navigate. The left hand menu has a wide variety of related topics including tips on the basics. All in all, a very good place to be, I think.
GHOSTWEB.COM: THE IGHS ~ This site is one of the Creme de la Creme of picture sites. The owners travel all over the US in their cozy RV and report their findings. Newsletters are sent out frequently to those of us who have signed on for the free membership. Home study courses are offered, t-shirts to buy, and loads of helpful information to help you figure out what you are doing - if you are trying to investigate, that is. Lots of buttons to click to navigate makes it fun for those of us with the attention span of a gerbil. There are some VERY informative articles, and there is a membership button near the bottom of the page.. These people are not fly-by-night investigators, and they really want to educate.. Check them out!
REAL HAUNTED HOUSES ~ This is a world-wide site concerning well known haunted houses. It covers most of the US, a bit of Western Canada, a few places in Western Europe, and Saudi Arabia. There is a little bit of side line stuff: a link to theories on the causes of hauntings, and a link to some ghost clubs - neither of which work, so don't bother <lol>
HAUNTED AMERICA PRESENTS: GHOST STORIES - URBAN LEGENDS ~ Billed as real Urban Legend style stories (how can they be both?), this page is part of one of the pages above. I have NO idea which one, but this section is interesting in its own right, so enjoy it!
HAUNTED AMERICA ~ THIS is the parent page to the one above. The intros take a long time to come up. It is more of a "fright site" than anything else. A section on Vamps, a section of film, a section on books...like that. Not quite sure why they called it "Haunted America". If you are on a slow comp, either go make a snack, or go somewhere else for the fun. It DOES list locations of cemeteries/graveyards around the US. That's good for those of us doing genealogical research.
If you know of a website covering a variety of places...one you think other people would like to know about, please tell us about it! We'll put it in here and credit you for the find!

GHOSTS DIRECTORY ~ Here is a good twist! This place has listings of books, and sites related to ghosts. Run by Paul Cabay, this site has potential for some really interesting information on the ghosts we love. It is very easy to navigate, has a listing of ghost groups you may be interested in joining, has a separate section for books, and it isn't all black and "spooky" (100 extra points). The links are broken into sections for stories, pictures, Gettysburg. There is a rank (presumably where it is in a googlesearch? and Keywords. The Keywords scare me a bit. I wonder who came up with these to get to a Gettysburg site: tankar, fuses, showponies, weeshuis, fantalizer?? I think you'll enjoy the site. Thanks Paul.
