EVANSVILLE ~ 2004
BACK TO INDEX
This year we will meet in the Library at 11:30 pm October 23. Our adventure will begin at 11:59 - give or take a bit. As an Out Of Towner, I will be staying at the Days Inn East. I really enjoyed my stay last year, and the manager and staff were the GREATEST! I will make up a separate page to tell you a bit about what happened. I had started one, but it's gone too (have I cursed Yahoo-Geocities on this page yet?). So.. at this point, what I know is this: We will be staying overnight at the library. This does NOT mean sleeping - Snowy, and MOL this means YOU! We tend to leave the overnight between 3:30 and 4:30 am. It depends on the Paranormal Investigators. This year the investigators will be: The Louisville Ghost Hunters Society. I have heard some nice things about this group, so I am looking forward to meeting them. In addition to this group, I'm very pleased to say that Tim Harte will also be with us. Tim is a fascinating man and he has some pretty impressive ways of detecting phenomena. He spearheads The MESA Project - a site you MUST visit!! Tim has been at most of the overnights we have had, and his expertise in the field is awesome to me. Members of the media have been invited. Last year we got to watch a producer get freaked out when someone in the back children's room touched her. Spooooky! See more below on the professionals.
What will we do this year? I can't say for sure. Last year we went to New Harmony. It's a lovely area. Snowy's ancestor founded the place - how about THAT??! Maybe this year we will do a tour around the more scenic and historical areas of Evansville. We tend to eat at buffet places and Denny's (I'm sorry, but being Canadian, Denny's is still a big deal to me). PLEASE NOTE: We will be joined by some of the Paranormal Investigators for dinner on Saturday. I think this will be a lot of fun.
Sharing a meal is a great way to get to know each other. We try to ALL get together, at least, for dinner/supper (depending on who you are) on Saturday before the overnight. After that we pop back to the hotel room for a rest... in this case, I guess it will be mine... and then we make our way to the Library.
Rules:
*Make sure you bring water/snacks/change for the vending machines.
*Go ahead and bring a pillow - but if you DO I cannot guarantee your sleeping drooly face will not be posted all over the internet.
*Go ahead and bring cameras, recording devices, your frog, whatever. Share your findings. NO SCREAMING allowed.
*I have always found it to be too warm in the library, but others may not. Bring a "change of shirt", or things that will make you feel comfy - something to warm you up or cool you down. I plan to wear Saran Wrap.
Who Is Coming?
Rain, Michael, OneHicChic, Yakumo Fujii, Snowy, The Dark Shadows, Maer, Snowflake, Director Greg, Enchanting Angelic One (I made that one up myself!), Ames, Dave, Wenndii, Spooky, Angelloft, and Danman. Ames and Dave and Wenndii and Spooky are new. I can't WAIT to meet them in person!
I am practically DANCING to announce that if time off of work is approved, MOL (MVBD) and her fiance Moze will be joining us as well! EEEEEeeee!!!
The Paranormal Teams In A Little More Depth:
I mentioned that Tim Harte of MESA would be there. What I just found out yesterday is that a VERY gifted Sensitive - Linda S, who was there last year will be Tim's guest again this year. I can't BEGIN to tell you how excited I am about that. ?I had really hoped she would return. Not only is Linda very good at what she does, she is also one HECK of a sweet person, and I'm just thrilled to be able to see her again. This year, Linda will be trying something which is, for MESA, a bit different. She will use "table tapping" to try to get the entities to communicate.  While she is doing this, MESA will monitor the magnetic fields involved. ASK ME how exciting this will be! I have emailed back and forth with Linda, and she tells me she plans to go back to the kids room to try to communicate with the little boy mentioned in ReCaps. She said that she did go down to the back room  again after the initial incident, and that she still felt the same things. She feels it is obvious that this boy is in pain and is asking for help. I am being allowed to sit in the room with her and take notes during the table tapping, so I am doubly thrilled. To find out a bit more about Linda's experience last year, see The ReCap Pages elsewhere in the site. I'll link it so you don't have to go searching, ok?? More will go up on The ReCap Pages, because there was some interesting information taken in The Bayard Room. I think that might be one of the reasons Tim plans to use the Bayard room for the "table tapping". I hope to be taking notes in the kids room as well. I have just bought myself a good tape recorder with external mic (each sold separately), and I hope to find a quiet place to let it rip - err... so to speak. Thanks to Amy (Ames ~ Thank you Ames :) xo), we have a confirmation of numbers for the Louisville team. They will be 15 in number, rather than the originally reported 50-60. Can you say "phew" boys and girls? I recently heard from Mike Wilson of GHOST. He is pictured beside Linda in the photo link of Linda above. He will ALSO be joining the overnight, as well as a few other people from his group. Mike is an exceptional man. He is very giving of information, and seems to actually KNOW what he is talking about. I tend to admire that *grin*. As a special treat for GhostChatters, Mike, Linda, and several others with the Paranormal teams will be joining us for Dinner Saturday evening. YESSS!!!
IF you have questions you want to ask these people, SEND THEM. We will ask and report answers. I PROMISE! See you there!
Where Will We Eat On Saturday?
I'm glad you asked! Thanks to OneHicChic for arranging the tables - so to speak, we are meeting for dinner at Sirloin Stockade on 4610 Bellemeade in East Evansville. This is just off that road that is Green Something... GREEN RIVER! that's it! It's just south of the East Lloyd Expressway. Click here for the location map. We ate there last year, and the food was pretty good. So we are off to do it again.
